Situated opposite the Houses of Parliament and in a perfect location on London's Southbank, County Hall was for many years the seat of London government - formerly the London County Council; and latterly the Greater London Council (GLC) and Inner London Education Authority (ILEA).
The original development of this imposing landmark building, designed by Ralph Knott, started in 1911. The intervention of two World Wars prevented its completion until 1958.
Redevelopment & Regeneration
In 1996 Galliard Homes commenced with this major conversion and redevelopment project from offices into over 600 glamorous residential apartments. It marked the beginning of regeneration in SE1 and the Southbank - a regeneration that continues even today and transformed the area over the last decade.
Nowadays, and in addition to Namco Station; the Premier Travel Inn; and Marriott Hotel, this riverside building contains such attractions as The London Aquarium; Dali Universe; and the Saatchi Gallery. Visitors will also be aware of its proximity to the London Eye, the booking office of which is located on the ground floor of the block.
The County Hall Lettings Company Limited
County Hall Lettings Limited, now CHLondon Ltd and a wholly owned subsidiary Galliard Homes, was established in response to the rising tide of investment purchases and the immediate need for a Letting and Management company to fulfil a specific roll. CHLondon is still retained for the majority of tenanted apartments in this development and has grown into a Company with 8 offices in London and Essex.
Galliard Homes Limited Sales & Marketing Suite
Such is the affiliation with this magnificent building, Galliard Homes still retains, and recently refurbished, a Sales & Marketing Suite on the ground floor. More recent expansion plans saw the addition of another Sales Offices geared specifically to manage the wealth of enquiries from the latest landmark in this location, the Park Plaza ApartHotel at 1 Westminster Bridge.
